Old News Music Video
In preparation for my debut album, Hand of God, Taylor Camarot and I teamed up for one last music video before its release. Armed with a Super 8 camera in an abandoned double-wide, we spent an afternoon carefully shooting only 5 rolls of tape for a total of 12 minutes of footage. There was no room for mistakes—only happy accidents. Old News is a southern rock inspired foot stomper that encapsulates the frustration of being down on your luck and stuck in negative patterns. Together we successfully captured a redneck dystopian vibe, the grit of the tape lending itself to the grit of the song and the wailing of slide guitar.
It took me a long time to find the right concept for this music video. Sometimes the concept is inspired by location, and with permission to do whatever we wanted in a derelict space, we really made the magic happen.
